Beware! There are of course many cheap options on the market: MDF shutters can look unappealing and plasticky, while some brands purporting to be ‘solid’ timber are in fact finger-jointed from numerous pieces of lower quality Chinese timber which in time move against each other and spoil the finish.

Many companies employ general tradesmen to fit wooden shutters, but for shutters to work well and last they need to be fitted by a trained carpenter. Badly fitted shutters can work loose, become uneven, and stick, making them unsightly and impractical. We only fit shutters to the highest specifications.
